Future blogs

In case you noticed the post date, don't be surprise. That the blogspot feature (Guess that's what blogspot devs would say)

And if you agreed that its a feature, don't feel insulted if I say you its a bug!!!

Agreed! There is a bug, but this feature is not a bug. I did some testing and noticed this,

a) Create a new post, set the date to a future date and hit publish. It neatly goes into the scheduled state. (http://buzz.blogger.com/)

b) But publish a post on current or any date history. Now edit the post and change it to a future date, it still will get published to the future date, which was your case.

I think they set a flag on the post that it has successfully published once and further change in dates is considered as non-scheduled posts. Or can this be an acceptable behavior! Debatable, since Flickr for instance takes this approach of changing the publish/upload time of the photo to order it in the stream. So for any re-ordering the timestamp has to be modified.

Got this in buzz page:

One quick note: If you want to give a post a date in the future but have it appear on your blog now, you’ll need to add in an extra step. First, publish your post with the current date and time. This will make it appear on your blog. Then, edit the post to change the date into the future and publish it again.

We don’t re-schedule posts that are already published, so the post will stay on your blog but sort to the very top. The same is true of future dated posts you’ve already made, so there’s no need to worry about your existing posts disappearing, or having your blog assaulted by unplanned entries in, say, 2027.

I think this should not be allowed (allow to publish post dated) though scheduling is the good idea.
For that matter google made a hoax on 1st April saying that "gmail now allows back dated mails". Few quick thoughts and you can guess that its not difficult to do (specially for a online mail service) but it was a hoax coz its not right, its cheating".

On the similar lines, I think this feature should not be there, better way to send the blog to scheduled state if time is changed/set to future. You got to respect the time lines.

Anyway that's my view, you may have the different thoughts!

How they calculate it to be 38 years (ago) ?" I think you can guess it!!

and yeah, I am not that old, not even close ;-)
